Add the butter to a small saucepan. Melt on the stove and let brown for about 5 minutes. Make sure to stir continuously. Remove from the heat and let cool.
In a large bowl combine the cooled butter, coconut sugar, date sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and molasses. Mix until ingredients are fully incorporated.
Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix again.
Add the chocolate chips and the pecans and stir until combined.
Taking about 1 tbsp of the mixture, roll the dough into balls and then place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Press the cookies down and then add one pecan to the top.
Bake for about 13 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool.
