Churro 🤝 donuts. What’s better than one? Two in one. You NEED to try our Churro Pecan Donuts 🍩💥
What you’ll need:
1 egg
⅓ cup maple syrup
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
⅛ cup coconut sugar
¼ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cinnamon
-¼ tsp salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 tbsp olive oil
¼ cup milk
½ cup Evie’s Snacks Churro Pecans (chopped)
Churro Glaze:
2 tbsp butter
½ cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla
½ tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp maple syrup
Chopped churro pecans for topping
How to make:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with cooking spray or butter.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, maple syrup, baking powder, baking soda, coconut sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Add the whole wheat flour, olive oil, and milk to the bowl. Stir until the batter is smooth and well-mixed.
Fold in the chopped churro pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Place the filled donut pan in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the donuts are baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and maple syrup until smooth and well combined.
Once the donuts are baked and slightly cooled, dip each donut into the churro glaze, coating both sides evenly.
Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to catch any drips.
Serve the churro pecan donuts warm or at room temperature.
Enjoy!
