What You’ll Need:Â
- 1 eggÂ
- â…“ cup maple syrupÂ
- 1 tsp baking powderÂ
- ½ tsp baking sodaÂ
- â…› cup coconut sugarÂ
- ÂĽÂ tsp nutmegÂ
- ½ tsp cinnamonÂ
- -ÂĽ tsp saltÂ
- 1 cup whole wheat flourÂ
- 4 tbsp olive oilÂ
- ÂĽ cup milkÂ
- ½ cup Evie’s Snacks Churro Pecans (chopped)Â
Churro Glaze:
- 2 tbsp butterÂ
- ½ cup powdered sugarÂ
- ½ tsp vanillaÂ
- ½ tsp cinnamonÂ
- 2 tbsp maple syrupÂ
- Chopped churro pecans for topping
How To Make:Â
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, maple syrup, baking powder, baking soda, coconut sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Add the whole wheat flour, olive oil, and milk to the bowl. Stir until the batter is smooth and well-mixed.
- Fold in the chopped churro pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- Place the filled donut pan in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the donuts are baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and maple syrup until smooth and well combined.
- Once the donuts are baked and slightly cooled, dip each donut into the churro glaze, coating both sides evenly.
- Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to catch any drips.
- Serve the churro pecan donuts warm or at room temperature.
